  2. Demonstrate the changes to, and clarifications of, definitions from the 1994 standard.

Description

Who Should Attend

This program is designed for anyone who may already be familiar with the 1994 version of the standard and is preparing to change, or contemplating changing, their current specifications to the 2009 version of the standard.

Program Description

The ASME Y14.5-2009 standard generally adds new tools or symbols to what already exists in the 1994 version.

The AGI overview presentation of the 2009 update briefly discusses each one of the seven “new” symbols and provides some additional application slides.

Because the 2009 standard mainly adds clarification and new tolerancing tools (symbols and definitions), drawings completed to the 1994 version will still be compliant with the 2009 standard.

Prerequisites

This is NOT a beginner program! Attendees should already have a thorough understanding of the majority of the ASME Y14.5 1994 Standard before attending this program. In fact, most of the differences between the 1994 and the 2009 standard apply to advanced, but potentially common, concepts.

This program is designed for anyone who may already be familiar with the 1994 version of the standard and is preparing to change, or contemplating changing, their current specifications to the 2009 version of the standard.

    ASME Y14.5 2009 Update
The training manual was easy to follow, and had clear examples. The Powerpoint presentation was well planned and showed good clarification of the concepts. It was nice to be able to attend class for a half day, and work the other half. I recommend this course for others who are looking for the basics of the 2009 update.

The class was well organized and run jsut the right time. UNfortunately the voice service over telephone dropped out frequently, only the VoIP connection remained solid. However, this is the technical issue and not to be understood as part of my rating. the class was well worth the time and money! I just wish I could have gotten hard copy in color, and I woudl gladly pay for a color hardcopy of the presentation in full scale.
